Our Story

Luis grew up in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador in a little town called Cotalo. At 24, he came to the United States through the Peace Corps to learn English, with the plan of returning home to work as a tour guide. What he didn’t expect was how this opportunity would change his life.

He met his future wife in Waterloo, Iowa, while they were both working at an internship at the Grout Museum. After getting married, they moved to Mason City to begin their life together. During those early years, Luis worked at several car dealerships, where he improved his English and learned to listen to people and how to address their needs.

Once Luis saw into the roofing industry, he immediately saw an opportunity, a need for a hardworking roofing company that focused on real quality, consistency, and honest service. With help from people he trusted and a strong drive to do things the right way, he started building what is now Larec Roofing.

Today, Luis continues to push the company forward with the same mindset he began with: provide the highest‑quality roofing services in North Iowa and treat every homeowner with the respect and care they deserve.
